Purpose:
Project Engineer responsible for the strategic project management of new and existing products including product design and development. Assignments may be customer specific or by project. Ensures compliance with the Quality System requirements.

Responsibilities:

Perform project management duties utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) guidelines
Product design and development
Prepare APQP documentation (e.g., DFMEA, process flow chart, PFMEA, and control plan)
Create and perform design of experiments (DOE)
Generate product improvements and/or cost reductions
Prepare cost calculations including feasibility reviews
Assist sales and/or quality with design issues
Prepare and process engineering change requests (ECR's)
Develop and complete business plan objectives within designated timelines
Develop and work with vendors to support project needs (tooling, gages, materials, testing, equipment)
Lead design review process for new injection mold tooling
Provide technical support to sales / customers

Experience and Education:
Only candidates with 5 or more years' experience will be considered. All 5 years' experience must be in plastics (any industry, but experience must be directly related to injection molding of thermoplastics).
BS in Engineering, or equivalent experience. Without degree candidate must have 10 years of experience and demonstrate a knowledge of engineering terminology and practice through specific work examples which he/she was personally responsible for and involved with.
Knowledge and Skills:
Must have Insert or over molding experience plus strong project management, plastics design and customer interaction/support experience.
The role requires strong multitasking ability as well as a willingness to wear many hats as the business requires it.
Detail oriented self-starter.
Experience with managing and approving product components like stampings, overmold tooling, electrical PCB boards, etc.
Tools/Technology Required:
3D modeling experience is required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
