To assess and manage the dietetics needs of children and young people in the Cambridge and Peterborough contract.
This role will be one of the lead roles in the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in the area and is a contract commitment.
Salary Range:
Non-London 30,000 - 35,000o To contribute to MDT triage, improving referral quality and optimisation of care prior to treatment.
o Conduct holistic dietetic assessments and interventions to advise children and families at an individual or group level o To provide group or 1-1 interventions for children, young people and families o Responsible for clear and accurate documentation of assessment findings and progress notes o To work collaboratively on the service development of the MDT o To support in educating internal and external staff and colleagues regarding dietetic management o To uphold and inform clinical governance and safeguarding structuresQualificationsBSc in nutrition and dietetics and registered with the Health and Care Professions CouncilMembership of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) or alternative professional indemnity in placeExperienceEssentialExperience of working with mental health/learning disability clients in healthcare settingWorking with childrenMulti-disciplinary workingDemonstrable experience of speaking to large groupsDesirableExperience working in a weight management serviceMotivational interviewing skills or behaviour change skills trainingExperience of partnership working with a variety of stakeholdersIndividual CompetenciesStrong interpersonal skills including empathy, active listening, and effective communication.
Conduct appropriate clinical interviews inc.
detailed history taking, dietetic assessment and risk assessment.
Support medically and psychologically complex clients as part of the MDTAbility to formulate a health care plan taking into consideration other elements of the multidisciplinary team.
Ability to design tailored talking-based interventions based on individual or family's needs.
Strong documentation skillsAbility to teach others at an appropriate level.
