The Warehouse/Inventory Control Specialist oversees day to day operations of their assigned area and is responsible for maintaining a safe Warehouse environment according to standards.
This is a nonsupervisory position primarily responsible for maintaining inventory and also assisting the Receiving Supervisor with monitoring daily activities on the floor in the Receiving/Dry Storage areas.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure inventory accuracy via day-to-day cycle counts and tracking weekly material demands - such as labels, films, boxes, spices, etc.
Closing out purchase orders, along with other documentation that is needed within the department.
Delegating raw material daily tasks amongst the team.
Effectively communicate material issues to the Receiving Supervisor.
Assist in overseeing daily operations and employee needs.
Responsible for keeping a clean and organized work environment.
Enforce HACCP, GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures.
Assist in team development through training new hires, transfers and providing training updates to long-term employees.
Monitor and analyze inventory levels and customer purchase trends to ensure that goals are met and inventory is always available.
Develop, implement, and update inventory control procedures and policies to minimize losses and reduce costs.
Accurately record and document inventory data.
Provide guidance and leadership to the inventory staff Assist in the ordering and replenishment of inventory items Review inventory records and transactions for accuracy Track inventory levels and report on any changes or trends.
Supervises and coordinates the taking of periodic physical inventories.
Prepare and submit reports to management.
Provides accurate, current inventory data for purchasing decisions.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education High School Diploma or equivalent Experience and Training 4
years operating a forklift in a Warehouse environment Strong reading comprehension and writing ability Basic math understanding Technology/Equipment Basic data entry/computer skills Basic printer understanding RF scanning device experience Characteristics Strong problem-solving abilities Strong foresight to identify opportunities for improvement Strong communicator both verbally and written Ability to work independently and in a team environment Self-starter with demonstrated initiative Strong Mechanical Aptitude WORK ENVIRONMENT Plant Conditions:
