General Description Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Custodian will be instrumental in maintaining all plant/facility maintenance, general building and ground maintenance, repairs, in accordance with company policies and standard expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Ensure focus on safety when completing all tasks.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Perform maintenance on office and shop areas of the building to include, doors, closures, fixtures, etc.
Responsible for waste removal/recycling, sweeping/mopping floors routinely, cleaning high traffic areas, facility repairs (light fixtures), touch up paint, general facility requests.
Operate the floor scrubber (propane) and other equipment such as hand tools or power tools.
Maintaining clean working environments for employees in all areas of the facility.
Responsible for minor grounds maintenance such as snow removal, salting of high traffic areas, and grounds pickup.
Monitor inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies, reordering as needed.
Responsible for taking fleet vehicles for shop repairs, safety recalls, emissions testing and license plate renewal.
Assist the maintenance team with all other duties as assigned.
Maintain department housekeeping standards.

Education and/or Experience A high school diploma or equivalent One to two years of previous custodial maintenance required, manufacturing environment preferred.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
