General DescriptionUnder the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Group Lead will work as an integral part of the team to lead New Equipment projects.
This process will begin with a kickoff from the Applications Engineering team.
The Engineering Group Lead will then set up the engineering schedule for the project and work with the Engineering Manager to determine the resources required to complete per the production schedule.
The Engineering Group Lead will work with a team of Engineers and Designers and to perform engineering calculations and model the equipment using Solidworks.
Throughout the project, the Engineering Group Lead will assist project management in communicating updates with the end customer and the management team at BCT.
Once the engineering is complete, the Engineering Group Lead will assist manufacturing, assembly, and the installation team by answering questions and making changes as needed.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deems necessary.
o Supervise a team of mechanical engineers, designers, and detailers to perform calculations and design equipment in accordance with standard engineering methodology.
o Manage the engineering portion of projects, consistent with defined scope of work.
o Delegate project tasks to self and team to meet project schedules and customer requirements.
o Collaborate with Manufacturing, Assembly, and Field Installation teams to facilitate successful project completion.
o Participate in regular design reviews to improve design and/or reduce costs to manufacture.
o Lead and support development of standards, procedures, and design guides for the department and company.
o Work directly with key leadership in initiating R&D implementations and concepts.
o Perform administrative functions such as completing reviews, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
o Hold self and team accountable to company and customer for meeting timelines and company objectives.
o Proactively drive and support BCT's Culture and Core ValuesSupervisory Responsibilities-Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

o Familiarity with 3D/CAD system necessary, with proficiency in SolidWorks preferable.
o Demonstrate ability to successfully manage team projects, preferably with direct supervisory experience.
o Working knowledge of engineering design and methodology.
o Ability to prioritize workload while managing internal and external customer needs.
o Strong interpersonal & written communication skills with desire to be an active team member.
o Demonstrate proficiency with computer skills using programs such as MS Office, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
Education and/or ExperienceRequires a bachelor's degree with 5
years of progressively responsible related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move records, files, and reports weighing up to 10 pounds.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates primarily in an office environment, with work that will occasionally take them out to the shop floor.
While performing the duties of this job out in the shop, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
When in the shop the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the shop is sometimes loud enough to require hearing protection.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
