Server Engineer

Baird's IT Operations Server team is looking for a forward thinking, intellectually curious individual who enjoys working with people and Microsoft 365 technologies to solve business problems with a focus on Exchange Online and Email Security.
As part of the Server team, this role will interface with multiple teams throughout IT to serve as the go-to for new projects and troubleshooting issues.
This is a highly visible and critical role to the success and health of the Baird IT Enterprise Applications.
We are looking for someone who is ready to solve problems, make improvements and contribute to the overall architecture of the Baird infrastructure.
Baird IT works a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days/week in office.
We are hiring for one position with opportunity in the Milwaukee, WI or Louisville, KY area.
As a Server Engineer, you will:
Troubleshoot support tickets sent to the Server Team by the Service Desk.
Build, configure, and administer Baird server infrastructure and enterprise services.
Monitor current enterprise services for performance and stability.
Manage the server backup and restore process.
Develop technical documentation and maintain an understanding of the server infrastructure.
Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment, participate in an on-call rotation, and have experience responding to client needs as raised in Service Desk tickets.
Communicates and collaborates with project delivery teams and IT security team to ensure align to best practices and Baird security policies and guidelines.
What we look for:
At least 5
years of technical experience and successful deployments of Microsoft products and/or server infrastructure at an enterprise level.

in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering preferred.
Working knowledge of physical infrastructure architecture, cloud integration models, and workflow diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities and be able to apply previous knowledge to new situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively exchange ideas and information and effectively relate to others in order to accomplish work responsibilities.
Goal-oriented with strong attention to detail Excellent understanding of windows server OS.
Strong problem-solving skills - identify problems and implement remediation plans.
Experience with Dell Hardware is a plus.
Exposure to VMware.
Experience with server patch management using Microsoft Configuration Manager.
Experience monitoring OS and hardware using System Center Operations Manager.
Experience in managing and maintaining an enterprise backup solution including daily backup operations.
Experience in Microsoft Active Directory and M365 administration and maintenance.
Experience in Citrix administration and maintenance is desired.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
