ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Oversees the vision, leadership, and strategy on data and analytics Establishes current and long-range strategic and operational plans to build a distinctive analytics hub, applying industry best practices in data and analytics Supports all stages of building new, bespoke analytics solutions and works with different departments to develop cutting-edge analytics solutions Leads and grows our analytics department, supporting them on complex use cases, professional development, and integration with other departments Applies and deploys state-of-the-art advanced analytics, quantitative tools, and modeling techniques to derive business insights, solve complex business problems, and improve decision Applies health care industry knowledge of provider (electronic medical records) and payer (claims) data and incorporate standards such as ICD9, HL7, FHIR, SNOMED, etc. to create effective healthcare analytics solutions Provides key leadership to key resources to develop cloud data management capability and ensures sustaining processes are aligned with the strategic business objectives Applies detailed knowledge of artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning supervised (classification, regression, XGBoost, neural network, decision tree, support vector machine), clustering (k-means), dimensionality reduction (PCA, Autoencoders), and deep learning techniques that include natural language processing Applies deep technical and architecture expertise of data science technologies such as R, Python, H2O.ai, Spark, and SQL over very large datasets typically managed in big data environments Creates and manages standard data operating procedures, data accountability policies, data quality standards, data privacy and ethical policies Pursues and adopts emerging, innovative, industry-leading emerging methods and technologies related to data information management and analysis to advance business outcome Leads analytics activities in M&A as well as integration of acquisition targets Works across the Innovation Center in the evaluation and development of PE/VC companies Trains and mentors other associates to help develop their healthcare analytics and leadership skills Up to 50% domestic travel and limited (less than 25%) international travel to Company, Vendor & Service Provider locations. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or Operations Research or closely related degree (foreign equiv. accepted) WORK EXPERIENCE Need 10 years of post-bachelor's degree progressive experience working with data in the healthcare industry. Presenting and breaking down complex healthcare analytic problems into structured and relevant points for a diverse set of senior business leaders and peer colleagues at all levels to understand and utilize to drive business results Utilizing research reporting requirements, analytics, data management and data governance principles and methods to lead companies through short and long-range technology-centric projects to support strategic direction of a healthcare system Leading and developing analytics policies and procedures Preparing and monitoring budgets, and leading/managing staff. Experience:
With advanced analytics or data science experience in healthcare As an analytics leader in the healthcare industry as a department head/VP/SVP/Chief role or equivalent experience at a top-tier management consultancy focusing on healthcare analytics Leading medium-to-large data and analytics team (25
staff members) addressing healthcare analytics use cases and product development Working with healthcare concepts (ICD9 or 10, CPT, HL7, FHIR, and SNOWMED) and healthcare provider data from electronic medical records and payer claims systems Application of variety of machine learning techniques in healthcare including - supervised learning (classification, regression), clustering, dimensionality reduction, anomaly detection, reinforced learning and neural networks; and solving data science use cases within healthcare industry such as risk stratification, predicting cost of care, assisted diagnoses, personalized interventions, fraud detection, health plan member churn/retention/segmentation, healthcare resource optimizing, adherence, survival analyses, etc.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
