Specialist Wellness Center-Rite Hite
Description Use listening skills in wellness consultations to design wellness programs within Wellness Appointments program guidelines and equipment orientations for members.
Learn member names and welcome them personally.
Provide weekly feedback and encouragement to all assigned wellness program participants in the form of face-to-face, electronic messaging, phone calls and/or mailings.
oInstruct wellness program participants on safe and effective exercise techniques, including, but not limited to, warm-up and stretching progression, aerobic conditioning, strength training, proper use of equipment and workout progression.
oPromote facility policies and require suitable conduct from participants at all time.
Maintain a safe environment for all and report any problems or needs immediately to the Wellness Manger.
Identify Wellness Center needs and communicate with Equipment Techs and Facility staff to resolve issues regarding equipment and cleanliness, etc.
Must adhere to all Wellness Center policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations; current CPR, First Aid, First Responder training is mandatory.
Requires flexible hours to work evenings and weekends.
Maintain certifications as required by the position.
Accountable to the Wellness Center Manager for execution of Association policies and procedures.
Be committed to the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee's Child Abuse/Neglect Prevention efforts as a mandatory reporter.
Requirements College degree in a fitness/wellness related field is preferred.
Must have minimum 1-year experience in a wellness center with demonstrated commitment and interest in wellness programs and member service.
Candidate must be able to show how he/she positively impacted health seekers lifestyles and improved their awareness/appreciation of physical, emotional and social health.
Candidate is also required to hold or obtain the following certifications and trainings; CPR Certification (current within 3 months from date of hire), YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles course (within 3 months of hire), YMCA Personal Training Certification (must attain within 4 months of hire).
