Summary:
A Disassembly Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently dismantling and disassembling various types of equipment, machinery, or vehicles.
They should be able to use hand and power tools to carefully disassemble components without causing damage and be able to identify and inspect for quality and functionality.
Key requirements of the job:
Dismantle and disassemble various types of equipment, machinery for rail cars following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Use hand and power tools to carefully remove and disassemble components, without causing damage.
Identify and inspect parts for quality, functionality, and usability.
Label, sort and store parts and components for future use, resale or disposal.
Operate heavy machinery, such as cranes and forklifts, to move and transport large or heavy equipment parts.
Clean and maintain tools and equipment and report any damage or issues to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, parts and components, and report any discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations and participate in safety training programs.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive industry.
Knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as heavy machinery such as cranes and forklifts.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
Must be able to take and pass a pre-employment drug test.
