Summary:
This position will provide unarmed security services at the WCS North Campus.
This position will provide security to WCS participants, staff, and visitors in a consistent and professional manner.
Essential Functions:
1.
Greeting and directing visitors and participants.
2.
Ensures visitors and / or participants are signing in and out.
3.
Have thorough knowledge of the programs offered within WCS and their locations.
4.
Regular interior and exterior building checks.
5.
Monitor CCTV cameras for suspicious activity, and address issues appropriately.
6.
Communicate any safety / security concerns to Senior Security Manager in a timely manner, and communicate with fellow Security Technicians on site.
7.
Accompany staff through parking lot as requested.
8.
De-escalate situations that may arise with participants and removing them from the building / premises if necessary.
9.
Act as an onsite contact for outside contractors or vendors performing work and services at the location.
10.
Coordinates timely submission of reports and documentation such as accidents, incident reports, and / or medical response reports.
Other Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Responsible for overall safety and security of participants and staff.
2.
Assist with clearing floors during fire / tornado drills or actual events.
3.
Assist with mail and deliveries as needed.
4.
Report incidents to Milwaukee Police as required.
5.
Ensure that any security or facility issues are reported to the necessary entities.
6.
Other duties as assigned.
Job
Qualifications:
Minimal Qualifications Must have at least three (3) years of experience working in a security role.
Must clear Caregiver and Background checks, physical exam, and drug screen prior to hire.
Must have valid driver's license, automobile, and insurance sufficient to meet agency requirements.

Expectations are to maintain a neat, professional appearance, and to interact with participants, staff and members of the public in a professional manner that positively represents WCS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be knowledgeable in assessing and intervening in situations that present risks, and compromise safety and security.
Must be proficient in the use of computers and basic software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
).
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, and other staff is a must.
Ability to always exercise and use good judgement.
Ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner with staff and participants.
Ability to respond appropriately in a crisis situation.
Sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic, and disability issues.
Ability to learn evidence based best practices and apply those skills learned.
Must complete WCS required trainings within six months of hire (MI, TIC, DEI, Ethics and Boundaries, Cultural Awareness and Wellness, and Vistelar Security Training).

Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed at the WCS North Campus, but may require a presence at other program sites as / if needed.
Individuals performing this job can expect to work in various weather conditions as needed.
Shift hours may vary depending on needs of the agency to include evenings and weekends.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to climb two to three flights of stairs and be mobile throughout the facility.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, walk and stay awake while on shift.
Must be able to evacuate occupants from building in less than three minutes in the event of an emergency.
Requires ability to provide First Aid and CPR.
Some lifting required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
