Responsible to the Clinical Services Director to provide hospice patients, families, and the community at large with bereavement services. Directs and supervises bereavement services.
_Experience_: Experience in varied multidisciplinary settings in the health care field. Experience in working with patients and families coping with terminal illness and death. Previous experience in community relations, development, and fund raising.
_Education_:
College degree with focus in psychology, social work, communication or public relations; or meet qualifications of Spiritual Care Coordinator Job Description.
_Qualifications_:
Experience working with patients and families coping with terminal illness and death
Demonstrated ability to work well with an interdisciplinary team.
Excellent skills in communication, both verbal and written, interpersonal relations, and organization.
Must be flexible with work schedule, some night shift and weekend hours required
_Travel_: Necessary on a daily basis.
_General
Responsibilities:_
In coordination with the volunteer coordinator develops and directs programs for recruitment, training, and retention of bereavement team.
Assists in the marketing of the hospice by making the Company a community resource for dealing with grief.
Provides a bereavement program to families that is open ended to accommodate the varying needs of grieving families. Offers bereavement program that supports Hospice Advantage's Healthy Grieving Model.
Participates in hospice programs providing orientation, training, and education to all volunteer and bereavement staff.
Holds Grief support groups for survivors, staff and community. Participates in the organization, implementation and maintenance of the Healing Together program.
Writes letters, make phone calls and provides personal visits to support our families in the grief process both prior to and after the death of a loved one. Adheres to the 65% direct/20% travel/15% administrative benchmarks
Develops resource materials and supportive collateral pieces to support the bereavement and volunteer programs.
Participates in and provides community programs on hospice and related issues of end-of-life, as well as memorial events.
Oversees the development and maintenance of a resource library of written materials, videos, and referral sources for families and hospice staff.
Develops a resource directory to support families who need assistance in the grief process
Participates in annual review of all members of the bereavement team.
Participates in regularly scheduled Family Support Team meetings for coordination of patient care, exchange of information, problem solving, to receive staff support and in-service education.
Serves as an active member of the sales team.
Prepares reports for the Administrator or CSD as requested. Learns how to enter data into the Bereavement database proficiently.
Participates in agency quality improvement programs.
Tracks bereavement team activity to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Adheres to established company policies.
Accepts assignments deemed appropriate.
Acquires an understanding of what Camp Good Grief is, and works with the Administrator, Clinical Services Director, and the Volunteer coordinator to organize, promote and implement this annual camp for the branch

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
