Senior Group Counsel
The candidate will provide support to all lines of business of the Building Efficiency North America business in transactions, documentation, risk mitigation and management, bid and procurement processes and contracting, and other tasks as assigned. Will review, draft and negotiate various types of contracts identified by the law department as carrying a high degree of complexity or risk for the Building Efficiency business in North America, including energy performance contracts, procurement, M&A, construction and technology integration contracts in accordance with the company's policies. Provide practical, business-savvy counseling to the Building Efficiency business in North America in all areas of complex commercial transactions. Act as a thought leader on complex transactions issues. Proactively inform business and legal leaders about transaction-related updates and/or trends, and develop strategies to address commercial issues. Partner with business partner legal teams as necessary in transactional support, counseling and compliance. Select outside legal counsel and monitor, supervise and evaluate their representation of the company, both in terms of their expertise and cost containment. Work collaboratively across regions with other members of the law department, outside counsel and other non-traditional legal resources and takes leadership on project implementation. Take lead in updating forms, development of tools, playbooks and processes, as well as conducting contract and other field training. Monitor and follow laws and industry trends in the construction, facilities management, energy solutions and technology integration, and communicate them to the business. Propose, develop and monitor preventive law and compliance programs to reduce company exposure to legal risk. Identify continuous improvement opportunities related to the contract review processes, including identifying, developing and implementing best business practices.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
